A digital educational-artistic project aiming to popularize and educate the public about the historical and cultural heritage of the city of Šibenik in a new and innovative way.
The project focuses on the 'golden age of Šibenik,' specifically the 15th and 16th centuries, when the Šibenik Wells were built. Four compositions, one for each well, serve as musical and dramatic acts inspired by the main concerns of that era:
WATER AND SALT (AQUA ET SAL)
PLAGUE AND WAR (PESTIS ET BELLUM)
LOVE AND ECONOMY (AMOR ET OECONOMIA)
MUSIC AND ART (MUSICA ET ARS)
The compositions are digitally available as a permanent virtual exhibit of the Šibenik City Museum and can be listened to on-site at the Four Wells area in Šibenik (Azimut club) via info panels and QR codes.
The entire project, from the sound design to the visual identity, was created in collaboration with Šibenik locals of all generations: the Ivan Lukačić Music School, the Summer Organ School, the Ivana Jelić Drama Studio – HNK Šibenik, and professional actors originally from Šibenik. The music was recorded in the Church of the Holy Spirit, while the theatrical performances were recorded at the HNK Šibenik and Radio Šibenik facilities.
The project’s author, Sara Renar, prepared the lyrics during her residency at the House of Writers in Pazin.
